The idea
A hidden sentence is laid into a four-row grid; spaces become black squares, punctuation stays fixed, and letters are shuffled within their own column only. Drag the letters to restore the sentence, never shown, only inferred.
The goal Rebuild a sentence that is never shown, column by column.
How to play
Animated example
-
Read the grid
A hidden sentence is laid out over four rows. Spaces become black squares and dashed punctuation stays put.
-
Swap within a column
Drag a letter onto another in the same column to swap them — or tap a tile, then its target. Letters never leave their column.
-
Infer the sentence
The sentence is never displayed: use the words forming line by line to rebuild it.
Good to know
- Easy mode: correctly placed letters glow green.
- Hard mode: no colour hints at all.
Why “Certival”?
The name has been through the game itself. Take the word vertical, cut it in two and stack the halves: VERTI on top, CAL underneath. Swap the two letters of the first column… and you get CERTI·VAL. A word scrambled vertically, that sounds like a festival: welcome to the party!
